GPS  Equipment  Reviews

I'm a GPS junkie!  My first exposure to GPS was in the USAF, where we had only about 8 hours of GPS coverage a day.  The portable units were huge, took forever to aquire and then spit out such basic information that it required maps and fairly good navigation skills to use.

Later in life, I found myself working with the very people who designed and maintain the system for the U.S. Government.  Teaching courses in GPS to fellow engineers and witnessing first hand all the 'neat stuff' that goes on behind the scenes was truly fascinating, and I've had a sense of attachment to the system ever since.

Modern GPS units are simply wonderful devices.  The purpose of this section is to compare many of the available units, some brand new and expensive and some older units one can purchase used for very little money.

Don't forget to check out our GPS TECH section in the TECH LIBRARY as well.
