MuddyOval.com Product Review BF Goodrich All-Terrain AT/KO reviewed by Steve
As much as I preach the benefits of looking at modern technology instead of going with the 'same old' stuff, the BFG AT has been earning its keep year after year. I've tried these on a 2004 Discovery and on a 2002 Freelander and in both cases, they were as perfect as an AT (All Terrain) type tyre can be. Low road noise, great traction both wet and dry and still looking aggressive. The tread life over the many miles held up better than expected. More off-road runs revealed that there is only one weakness in these tyres- they plug with mud easily. Of course, if you run mostly on mud- AT's are not the right choice. I managed to pull a 5500lb trailer out of a muddy mess of a field with these tyres on my G4 Discovery- an impressive feat for street rubber. Although I'm big on new technology, these old school AT's are the one simple choice. My Freelander sports these and is unstoppable in those big Vermont storms... If you're looking for a tyre for street and winter use with maybe a little mud from time to time, you absolutely cannot go wrong with the BFG AT/KO.
