Jobs Creation - A History Lesson
What did Herbert Hoover, Harry Truman and Dwight Eisenhower have in common? During the Great Depression, President Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of all illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work. Harry Truman ordered the deportation of over two million illegals after WWII to create jobs for returning veterans. And then again in 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower ordered the deportation of Mexican nationals. The program was called Operation Wetback. It was done so WWII and Korean veterans would have a better chance at jobs. Food for thought. Let the bait be cast.

Re: Jobs Creation - A History Lesson
Ahh... but the "kinder, gentler America with her arms open to all.." couldn't possibly stand for that. After all, don't we know that this country was founded on individuals seeking freedoms from persecution?! <sic>
That's something that would never happen in this day and age - especially with the current president in office. Buy American so we can keep American jobs in America, right? There's no realistic chance we have at competing with countries who don't hold the same standard of worker benefits which we mandate and regulate here in America. Let alone the sweatshops... INS prevents that here.
Oh, and just to add a little fuel - how is it OK that illegal aliens come to the US just to have a child born here, so that child is automatically given all rights and benefits of being a regularly born US Citizen?

Lane, We're doing our best to eliminate more of them before they get a visa to travel to the US.

Re: Jobs Creation - A History Lesson
Well, it was a bit of a different time back then. Part of the reason many of the illegal immigrants have jobs here is because they'll work for much less than the typical American. So throwing them all out won't help get everyone jobs unfortunately. We, as a society, have grown to where we feel we're entitled to everything--including a well-paying job.
Throwing them out will solve problems but not the (lack of) jobs...

I just noticed his signature, that's awesome!
Waterboarding isn't torture either.
sadly, America is too afraid of "looking bad" but in my opinion we look bad as it is with millions of people illegally coming across the border. I was at Big Bend National Park a couple weeks ago as you know, and there is nothing betweent the north and south sides of the Rio Grande to keep illegalbacks out of the USA.
They are criminals, they are illegal, I can't believe groups like LULAC try to help these people! I'm all for immigrating legally, or for them to come up here and visit family or have a vacation, but do it legally.
