Defect: On certain sport utility vehicles, the plastic fuel tanks can
develop stress cracks. Fuel tank cracks can result in fuel leakage from the
underside of the vehicle when filling the tank, particularly if overfilling
is attempted. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could
result in a fire.
Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel tank. The manufacturer has reported
that owner notification is expected to begin during October 2004. Owners may
